By starting your career as a Production Management Associate, you will be exposed to all facets of operations through an in-depth general orientation. The training is designed to teach the various aspects of the business prior to placement in a role that aligns the candidate with operational needs. Once the selected candidate has completed the training program, he or she will supervise the manufacturing or movement of company products in a safe and quality manner with particular emphasis on safety, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, sanitation, productivity and environmental awareness.
The Production Management Associate role enables the individual to become familiar with the workflow of plant operations, and to develop knowledge of risk management, talent management, reliability excellence, operational effectiveness and capital effectiveness. Associates will be trained in a number of areas to learn skills and gain knowledge necessary to succeed in an operations leadership role:
Risk Management: Leadership in Safety and regulatory compliance consistent with Cargill’s Guiding Principles. Food and Feed Safety are of critical importance to Cargill’s businesses.
Talent Management: Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of operations employees to ensure goals and standards of the organization are being met. Gain knowledge of Human Resources policies, participate in the hiring of new team members, and develop and implement strategies to maintain and increase employee engagement.
Reliability Excellence: Maintain plants to ensure they are at all times capable of serving and meeting customer requirements.
Operational Effectiveness: Lead plant operations in alignment with all business functions to effectively and efficiently achieve business and profitability objectives.
Capital Effectiveness: Effectively deploy capital and manage capital projects to ensure ongoing market competitiveness of plant assets.
This role involves physical activity in agricultural, food, and feed processing environments which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basis – involving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (i.e. - heat, cold, grain dust, etc.).
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Ag-Business, Ag-Econ, Animal Science, Food Science, Dairy Science/Manufacturing or related disciplines graduating December 2012
Various US location, must be able and willing to relocate
Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
Overall 3.0 GPA preferred
