Candidate must be a self-starter that is capable of providing strategic and tactical leadership to a team of geographically dispersed purchasing associates across all branch locations, responsible for $40M in spend including parts (ie copper tube, insulation, motors, fittings, compressors) and refrigerants for branch service and install.. Key priorities are to develop and implement a strategic plan to drive cost effective sourcing strategies , standardized purchasing processes, and optimized supply chain for Hussmann Branch operations.

Leading process & procedure excellence and taking responsibility for developing, managing, and implementing standard supply management processes for direct materials and indirect material and services that deliver business operational excellence and meeting the aligned Branch goals. (leadtime, inventory, productivity, quality, service)

Key deliverables include direct material productivity, supplier rationalization, working capital improvement, supplier quality, managed spend under contract, and spend compliance. Candidate will implement governance structure and KPI scorecards using Lean techniques.

Develop and execute an appropriate Communications Plan – detailing audiences, their requirements and the appropriate delivery mechanisms to meet these needs for branch sourcing strategy.

Put in place a Stakeholder management plan to help align branch and regional leaders around the sourcing and procurement vision and strategy, ensuring that resources are allocated and prioritized appropriately to drive the strategy; ensure that stakeholders are engaged in this activity and that an appropriate review and performance tracking (KPI’s, TTI’s) process is in place.

Build strong value adding relationships with suppliers, branch buyers, and cross-functional teams. Form a partnership approach that will focus on short, medium and long-term business objectives and contract requirements.

Proactively support special large service and install projects by leveraging volume through RFQ to optimize cost reduction.

Execute material productivity savings for Branch operations by developing and enforcing purchasing compliance to contracted wholesale supplier.

Purchase Order compliance: Monitor the high level PO workflow for spend categories to confirm that the price paid is the current negotiated price. As strategic procurement events take place, work with regions and stakeholders to validated upcoming PO placements and evolve strategy accordingly.Develop strategic infrastructure for commodity and spend reporting. Report and forecast productivity and inflation. Interact with branches to understand spend plans: Understand the price and quantity budgets in each branch for various material spend categories; track on a regular basis, and report on price/volume variances. Own and maintain the item level information for responsible spend categories. This will include all purchase pricing and total cost of ownership information. Update as required.

Gathering, analyzing and assuring quality of the data collected to support supply chain and strategic sourcing projects to optimize branch purchasing process. Ability to convert general data and findings into tangible information with suggestions that add/unlock value in the branch supply chain to optimize the value chain. Analytical support to various supply chain areas. Work with branch purchasing, supply chain, finance. and other stakeholders on various projects, including supplier negotiations, decision support analysis, and recommending courses of action.

Required Skills

BS in related fields (Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering)

Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, etc.); Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as experience with reporting tools.

Excellent numerical and analytic skills; Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data

Ability to derive insight from large amounts of data from diverse sources

Three to Five years of experience in strategic sourcing roles. Minimum of Five years overall experience in supply chain related functions including suppliers contact

Team leadership in a cross functional environment, project management skills

Ability to work under tight time deadlines, with frequently changing priorities

Detail oriented individual with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

Professional certification (C.P.M.) preferred
