Exciting opportunity to work in the Last Frontier – Alaska. Located in the center of the state we have wide range of big game hunting, sport fishing, and cultural experiences right outside our door including the Northern Lights (except in summer). We also have a wonderful school system with low student to teacher ratios. Our new facility is constantly evolving to reflect our growing population with new technology and training opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Performs paraprofessional nursing services in support of the Health Promotion Section in clinic, classroom, and community, and through telephone consultations. Provides individual and group assessment, counseling, and teaching on a variety of subjects to include tobacco cessation, wellness, preventive screenings, and self-care. Documents patient counseling/teaching in outpatient records. Directs and facilitates Tobacco Cessation Program. Assists in analyzing need assessment surveys and tools. Works with individuals and groups in the planning and developing of health promotion program content utilizing research data. May need to work some evenings and/or weekends.
Qualifications:
Must maintain current Basic Life Support certification. Must have and maintain current LPN licensure. Must have a yearly mandatory influenza immunization. Must have a child background check. Is part of a mandatory drug testing program. Must be a US citizen.
