The Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information and Services (MSCIS) organization within Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division is seeking an experienced Principal Solution Manager with the vision, knowledge and experience in IT solution delivery to drive the execution of game changing projects that bring digital product to the retail and consumer market. In this role, the Principal Solution Manager will play an integral role in delivery of our online Store portfolio, bringing digital and physical content to life for consumers and retail partners worldwide across Microsoft’s broad array of products.
You will drive process development and improvement efforts across all IS functions, working with the MSCIS IS leadership team and its global organization. This will include the identification and definition of end to end business scenarios, critical interface points, and core business measures which are most important to the success of the business. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting and authoring business requirements and process documentation, and executing end-to-end User Acceptance testing to validate these business scenarios. You will be responsible for ensuring successful adoption of new solutions. In addition, in this senior role, you will be expected to provide program and functional discipline leadership to other Solution Managers on the team.

Provide program leadership across multiple concurrent projects within the Digital Supply Chain portfolio, with overall accountability for operational excellence within the Solution Management function
Build relationships with business sponsors, understand their commitments, and establish trust and dialogue on how to support those commitments.
Partner with key business stakeholders and business user teams to provide trusted advisor thought leadership, drive collaboration and accomplish product and systems development around the globe
Assist business stakeholders in prioritizing maintenance and enhancements work; articulate clear prioritization and business justification to engineering teams and convey IT constraints and dependencies to business users.
Document business case and business requirements definitions including business opportunity, incorporating the vision of solution and business workflows. Ensure that they are clear, concise and complete so that they appeal to development teams and to business stakeholders who must review and approve
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define and document key end-to-end business scenarios. Scenarios will demonstrate alignment of capabilities and critical interface points across different functional teams.
Define project/feature Key Performance Indicators, including metric definition, collection plan, collection frequency, collection ownership, reporting mechanisms and related process control plans.
Elicit and articulate user, system and operational requirements, including but not limited to development of process maps/flows and process descriptions, Voice of the Customer, requirements workshops, scope definition, feature definition, use case/user story/user narrative development, business analysis, competitive product analysis.
Lead end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that business processes and systems work in concert together across functional areas. Manage test preparation, pre-test training, test execution, entrance/exit criteria and approval gates. Provide effective communications, prioritization and issue resolution related to test.
Determine and produce necessary organizational change management (OCM) artifacts, including communication and training plans, stakeholder and end user communications, training material and roll out plans.
Develop and execute against project plans to ensure predictable releases with high quality and strong risk management.
Develop and present solution proposals & recommendations, including analysis of options, justifications, and tradeoffs.
Ensure final solution delivery meets the critical business needs of the sponsor.
7+ years experience in a similar functional role or a business role driving IT solution delivery
BA/BS in related field or additional years experience
Demonstrated ability to deliver IT solutions via Agile delivery methodologies
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering projects in a fast paced environment
Subject matter expertise in Digital Supply Chain
Familiarity with VSTF toolset
Ability to work fluidly with several engineering disciplines, including program management, development, test, operations and support.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation leadership and presentation development
Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels
Ability to excel in ambiguous business situations by adapting plans and approach
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Sound problem resolution, negotiation, judgment and decision-making skills
