Onsite Innovations Inc. is looking for a full time Medical Assistant, Monday through Friday, at our onsite occupational clinic in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

We are seeking a flexible, self motivated Medical Assistant with primary care and occupational health experience. Successful candidates require excellent customer service, communication skills, computer proficiency and a strong understanding of OSHA recordability.

Definition: Under medical supervision, assists professionals in the delivery of health care services and performs related duties as required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Daily Operation of the Front Desk

Answers telephone, greets patients, schedules appointments, updates patient charts, handles correspondence, updates and files all patient records, prepares all charts for following day’s clinic appointments, orders supplies.

Worker's Compensation

Has a strong understanding of worker's compensation principals

Logs all incoming accident reports and submits to insurance carrier for claim numbers

Makes first contact with injured employee and schedules visit with CRNP

Communicates all new injuries received to HR Safety Representative

Enters data into Open documenting date of injury, diagnosis, and current treatment plans of care on all EE seen in Occupational Health including next office visit, outside appointments, and current work status. Updates after each visit to Occupational Health.

Schedules outside medical referrals and diagnostic testing as requested by medical provider and assures all outside notes/diagnostic reports are received

Handles billing referrals for workman’s compensation clients.

Identifies and reschedules employees who miss appointments. Notifies medical staff.

Communicate work status changes to supervisors, HR representative, and insurance carrier

Assures treatment sheets are completed and signed

Schedules follow up visits according to medical recommendations

Pre-employment Physicals

Schedule appointments

Assure health questionnaire, consent for physical, Panel list, and if applicable DOT physical form and Hearing Conservation Program paperwork are filled out

Copies ID

Obtains consent for and completes all urine drug and breath alcohol testing. Completes chain of custody form and sends urine specimens to lab when non negative results obtained on instant test.

If DOT pre-employment performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screen pre-employment collection according to DOT policy

Documents vital signs and urinalysis

Performs hearing and vision screens as needed

Once physical is completed, communicates employment status to HR representative and hiring supervisor according to medical staff recommendations

DOT Physicals

Schedules all pre-employment and renewal physicals

Maintains communication with Transportation Department representative to identify employees with expired cards

Assures all paperwork is completed, copies driver’s license

Completes hearing and vision screens

Documents vital signs and urinalysis results

Informs medical staff of any abnormal findings prior to exam

Immediately notifies department supervisor of all failures on renewal exams

If pre-employment exam will notify HR representative of pass/fail status

If new card is issued or renewed, copies both card and driver’s license and forwards to department supervisor

Maintains DOT database outlining current expiration dates for all physicals completed in Occupational Health Unit

Hearing Conservation Program

Enters new employees into database

Coordinates with supervisors to schedule employees for testing

Performs annual hearing tests and notifies medical staff of any abnormal results. Reschedules tests if significant threshold shift was identified

Has employee complete all Hearing Conservation Paperwork

Provides training as needed on using hearing protection devices

Stocks pressroom boxes with ear plugs as needed

Provides hearing protection to other department supervisors/staff as requested and logs outgoing supplies

Return to Work Physicals, Non-occupational

Schedules all clients

Makes copy of return to work note, office notes from outside physician

According to medical findings, communicates current work status to HR representative and department supervisor

Clinic Visits for Doctor

Schedules patients appropriately in conjunction with medical staff and HR requests

Pulls all charts and assures all doctor’s notes, diagnostic reports and dictations are in place prior to visit

Assures treatment sheets are completed and signed

Schedules referrals for outside appointments and diagnostic testing as ordered

Schedules follow up visits with either Dr. Goren or medical staff as ordered

Miscellaneous Clinical Duties

Triages incoming injuries and provides basic first aid if medical provider not available. Contacts medical provider via phone if necessary to discuss case.

Assists medical staff with bandaging, splinting, wound care and procedures

Checks employee blood pressures when requested and maintains log on each person to provide to primary doctor as needed

Other Administrative and Clinical Duties as Assigned
