Job Summary

Primary responsibility is to provide administrative and programmatic support to the AmeriCorps grants initiative. This position reports to the Strategies Coordinator for Tutoring Projects. This position is contingent upon continued funding.

Tasks Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist grant manager in creating and maintaining members files
  • Monitor members’ files for accurate documentation
  • Maintain records of members’ hours through online data collection system and liaise with site supervisors
  • Consolidate quarterly and other reports into one master spreadsheet
  • Compile and proofread all reports and training materials
  • Maintain calendar of all AmeriCorps activities including meetings, trainings, projects and members payroll
  • Provide logistic support for site and web-based trainings for members
  • Maintain administrative correspondence for the program
  • Conduct internet research information for training and technical assistance
  • Attend meetings and events, as requested by CIS of Georgia and the strategies team
  • Collaborate with grants team to complete departmental goals and objectives
  • Create and maintain all virtual communication channels: e-newsletter, Facebook page, virtual cafe
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
  • College degree in sociology or social services
  • At least one year of administrative work-related experience in education and/or event coordination
  • Above average skills in word processing, spreadsheet, internet, presentation, publishing software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of proofreading ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task as part of a team and ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Basic math skills and sound judgment required
  • Familiarity with education and dropout prevention issues preferred
  • Working knowledge of popular web-based social networks and P2P services
