      Position Title: Retail area Supervisor – Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, South central

      Reports To: National Sales Director Retail

      Purpose of Role: § To demonstrate competency’s, such as strong presence, visible leadership, and command skills that would allow us to project them as a future leaders of Mars Inc. §

      To achieve incremental sales growth of the Mars Petcare U.S. business within key markets. §

      Partner with key account managers within their geography to ensure optimization of retail resources and results. §

      The key performance measures for success is (including but not limited to the following areas): distribution, out of stocks, speed to shelf, accessibility, rack placement and promotion objectives. §

      Ensure market conditions within assigned market/markets consistently meet or exceed company standards. §

      Market Owner for senior management tours and market visits. §

      Make and implement recommendations for choice of coverage applied to market. This could include direct or third party coverage, and time and frequency in store. §

      Manage, coach and train our third party merchandising partner on Mars Petcare U.S. brands, packs and best practices as it relates to merchandising and on shelf objectives. §

      Coach and train our 3 rd party partner how to sell our programs and items at retail

      Principal Accountabilities – Retail Level § Broker Responsibility – Responsible for leading and directing a Dedicated Retail Team and Syndicated teams of Region Managers, Supervisors & Merchandisers. §

      Manage Large & Small Outlet, Specialty retail services within the area; working to effectively execute implementation of all retail activities; (Retail Coverage & Surge). §

      Evaluate and understand who the top, med, and low end performers are within our 3 rd party’s and then action that information within our internal retail group so the Director can address this with our 3 rd party. §

      Performance Management - Deliver assigned objectives on Core Drivers – Display, Distribution, and New Items across the Large Outlet / Mass Outlet & Pet Specialty Channels. This occurs across multiple brokers, and multiple channels per geography. §

      Account Alignment - Partner with assigned account teams to help identify opportunities in the areas of Display, Speed to Retail on new Item’s, Core Distribution. §

      Resources – Acts as the point of contact for the broker in the field to identify opportunities and resources for in store related activities. §

      Training - Plans, coordinates and facilitates meetings with the local broker management, sales reps and Mars Pet account management for the purpose of selling objectives. §

      Facilitate their goals and objectives down to each of their responsible supervisor, and rep to achieve key retailer drivers; distribution, selling displays, survey hit rates and speed to market on new items. §

      Coaches’ and trains Broker District Manager and Retail Op’s Mgr., providing direction & communication on Mars Petcare US merchandising standards, Mars Best Practices, policies and procedures at retail. §

      Measure, evaluate and enforce expectations for retail conditions and overall Broker performance in the market. §

      Execute national, regional and account specific retail programs designed to achieve incremental profitable sales volume, merchandising impact, and optimize distribution. §

      Provides market recaps and recommendations by identifying & analyzing business within the market, using syndicated data, & account data information to capitalize on potential opportunities. §

      Identifies areas to improve coverage plan to produce maximum results based off of resources in their respective geography and presents those to the retail operations manager. §

      Leverage key sponsorship and event activities to drive incremental volume at the retail level.

      Key Experiences
      · A minimum two to four years selling experience, preferably in the food industry.

      Previous retail experience a plus
      ·
      Broker Management a Plus
