Bachelor of Arts in English, communications, or equivalent or Bachelor of Science in a recognized engineering, scientific, technical, or business management discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including familiarity with Government Printing Office (GPO) style and capability to learn other industry style guidelines or follow project- or agency-specific guidelines.
Ability to perform writing, editing, and rewriting of material of a technical nature with exceptional attention to detail.
Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft SharePoint, and ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Familiarity with styles and formatting, templates, and graphics.
Ability to quickly acquire new systems and software.
In-depth knowledge of Section 508 and Federal Plain Language guidelines, with proven ability to properly structure new documentation and retrofit legacy documentation.
Experienced in the preparation of technical documentation.
Experience in collection and organization of information required for preparation of user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and other reports and deliverables.
Experience working with knowledge management platforms and databases and facilitating collaboration sites.
Familiarity with virtual work environments and coordination, including Web conferencing and effective email and phone communication.
