Position Description:
Responsible for Insurance claims billing and account follow-up activities. Resolving denied hospital claims and all outstanding AR balances. In addition there is a responsibility of comparing insurance contracts to actual reimbursements to ensure proper claim payment. UB exp required, 1500 exp a plus. Medicare exp a plus. As a lead , will also be responsible for monitoring the staff for production and quality, completing weekly reviews and other required reports.This function is responsible for insurance premium collections. Positions in this function contact customers to determine reason for payment delinquency. Negotiate and advise on collection of overdue bills and take appropriate action to recover overdue payments. Handles unresolved inquiries/issues. Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on collection practices. May work with outside legal counsel and/or outside agencies in more complex collection cases.

Primary Responsibilities:

May coordinate other's activities.

Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED is required
3+ years of cash posting OR collections experience within a healthcare environment; i.e. read an EOB accurately, knowledge of doing appeals, review contract to ensure proper reimbursement, familiarity with all lines of business, etc.
1+ year of utilizing medical terminology; i.e. familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT codes
Beginner level of proficiency with MS Excel; i.e. creating macros, pivot tables, v-lookups, h-lookups, etc.

Assets:
Some college is preferred
Supervisory experience is preferred
Knowledge of Meditec is strongly preferred
