Basic Function

Responsible for providing technical leadership for multiple plant equipment projects including repairs and improvements of all equipment, building modifications and the safe installation of all equipment within the region. Lead the implementation of all technical projects in the facilities to meet our customers increasing expectations and to continuously improve safety and productivity of the process. Manage projects effectively across internal departments, Business Unit and external resources. Recognized as a Technical Expert.

Specific Duties

  • Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality for all product lines.

  • Coordinate project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion. Participate in resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements.

  • Determine project objectives, create and maintain timelines, outline project requirements, and supervise progress to ensure objectives are being met. Owns project from start to finish.

  • Develop, execute and monitor annual capital expenditure projects within the Plant. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget and that all deliverable deadlines are met.

  • Recommends and may implement programs to eliminate identified problems, upgrade facilities, and reduce costs.

  • Seeks bids on construction, alteration or installation work as required. Recommends contractors based on cost, workmanship, and completion dates. Administers such contracts and coordinates work performed to ensure expectations are met.

  • Maintains current layout of buildings and grounds indicating location of all pipes electrical service, drainage and other utility services.

  • Responsible for providing technical training to local plant personnel. Establishes a relationship with plant co-workers through trust and empowerment. Is results oriented, and inspires a winning attitude in others.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and local safety and health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards.

  • Reporting Relationship: Reports to Plant Manager

    Education Required: Degree in related Engineering discipline or directly related experience in plastics manufacturing.

    Experience Required: Eight to ten years of industrial maintenance/operations experience in a responsible management position.
