Monitors the surgery schedule and supply inventory to ensure availability of supplies for the efficient operation of the surgery department. Performs a variety of instrument processing functions to ensure the availability of instruments and equipment to meet the needs of scheduled patient-care activities. Assists with assigned patient-care activities under the direct supervision of an RN to enhance and expedite surgical procedures. Maintains a safe, clean patient-care environment utilizing a cost-effective approach to ensure optimum patient care and employee safety. Assists with nursing assistant duties as assigned by transporting patients, specimen, supplies, and equipment to meet both patient and department needs.
        A. Minimum Education: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English with demonstrated simple arithmetic skills; must have successfully completed Nursing Assistant Training Course or have six months recent experience in a medical facility involving basic nursing skills. B. Minimum Experience: One year of surgical support tech experience C.
