BA/BS degree in MIS, Computer Science or a closely related field or a combination of education and related professional level work experience totaling 4 years. Experience with the following:

Primary responsibility for maintaining the availability and proper performance of Boynton's Servers and technological infrastructure necessary for clinical operations. Infrastructure includes firewalls, LAN, WAN, VPN's, Active Directory, SAN, and VMWare 5.1 Cluster. In collaboration with Desktop Services, this position will also provide escalated support for desktops and will assist in: management of user accounts; monitoring system for performance problems; backup of system to tape; ensuring integrity of system data; set and maintain firewall; acquire and install system software updates; providing support to users of the system; user training; maintain documentation of work procedures and systems. This position will also assist in training/mentoring helpdesk personnel. Boynton is converting to a new EMR this summer and this position will integral to support the clinic's growing application infrastructure and integration needs. Occasional evenings/weekends will be necessary.
Management of the following:
Server Administration (45 %)
Install and troubleshoot software and updates. Provision and deploy a mixture of mostly Virtual and some Physical hardware for production and test networks. Patch Server operating systems and work with vendors to achieve compatibility with OS level patches. Monitor and maintain replication and backup procedures to ensure servers and data are backed up in a timely and complete manner and test recoverability. Assist in compliance with Clinic, University, State and Federal guidelines with respect to system monitoring, auditing and security. Server operating systems include Windows 2003, Windows 2008, VMWare ESXi 5.1, Ubuntu 8.04, Red Hat Enterprise 4, and VMS. User endpoints are Windows 7 with some exceptions.
Applications Support (15%)
Provide applications support for clinic-wide and departmental systems including the EMR, lab (Harvest), pharmacy (QS1), dictation/transcription (Medrite), and dental (Dentrix and Dexis). This position works closely with application specialists to analyze and resolve more complex application problems, especially those that require server maintenance/troubleshooting. Manage and troubleshoot system interfaces between interdependent systems including: the EMR, Lab, X-Ray, Dental and Pharmacy. Provide escalation support and mentoring to Desktop Support team.
LAN Administration (15 %)
Monitor, extend and repair Boynton's Cisco LAN infrastructure including the main and ancillary firewalls, VPN's. Troubleshoot connectivity problems and coordinate with Campus network staff.
Maintain written documentation in of work procedures and systems. Maintain database of all equipment.
Project Management (10 %)
Assist IT Analysts and Management in planning, testing, and deploying system enhancements. Report progress against goals. Coordinate with vendors for systems support/upgrade/installation.
