Position Title: Production Superintendent Department Name: Operations Supervisor/Manager Title: Value Stream Manager Location: Dover, DE Date: 2/13/13 Primary Purpose of this position: Lead the Webbing area of the Fem Care department in a safe and operationally efficient manner, while maintaining all quality and compliance goals in a FDA regulated environment. Deliver all operational results while valuing people, teamwork and diversity. The position is dayshift based, however this person is also responsible in communicating direction and is ultimately responsible for the areas second and third shift personnel and performance. Essential Functions: • Ensure compliance to EPC safety policies and practices. • Deliver expected results in TIR, safety audits and safety training. • Lead housekeeping and 5S efforts, ensure ongoing adherence. • Ensure compliance to Playtex and Fem Care quality systems, policies and procedures. • Continually reduce process variation through the use of process improvement tools such as SPC, Kaizen or Six Sigma. Partner with process engineering and quality to achieve this. • Lead associates to deliver expected results in labor cost, line efficiencies, scrap, materials, EBR’s and all other department costs. • Leads and/or facilitates improvement efforts/special projects related to Safety, Quality, Lean, Production, etc. • Monitor bale gram-to-gram ratios, determine correct mix for production. • Develop and implement cost reduction programs. • Provide weekly review of shift cost results, determines root cause of variances and recommend corrective actions. • Lead associates to deliver expected results in on time schedule attainment. • Maintain daily inventory of rayon bale stock and webbing rolls. • Coordinates and plans operational activities with the areas Group Leaders and Area Leaders. • Model consistent commitment and behaviors that support Playtex’s values and culture. Support the principles of developmental leadership through demonstrated actions, personal and organizational. • Create and enhance an environment of teamwork, associate involvement, shared values and aligned goals. • Promotes high level performance of hourly associates including performance appraisals. Experience/Education required: • BS in technical field (Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering) or equivalent experience • Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment • Minimum 5 years of experience in a front line manufacturing supervision • Experience with process improvement tools (SPC, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.) Skills and Abilities required: • Proven leadership in an inclusionary, team based manufacturing setting. • Supervision in a data driven, metric based environment. • Good technical understanding or mechanical skills • Fiber processing experience is strongly desired • Proven track record in leading, coaching and developing people in a manufacturing environment. • Proven track record of leading manufacturing process improvements and scrap reduction efforts. • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills. • Good oral and written communication skills • Good presentation, facilitation, leadership, and project management skills Energizer Personal Care is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
