The systems engineer facilitates the transfer of various sophisticated technologies, developed by IQT portfolio companies into the intelligence community. These technologies may include, but are not limited to geospatial analytic tools, video analytic products, large scale data systems (“Big Data” solutions), multilingual translation tools, security and mobility products. The technologies emanate from early-stage companies and start-ups with which IQT has a relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the management and engineering staffs of IQT portfolio companies
  • Build test plans and environments, using a variety of hardware, software and operating systems, in order to conduct tests
  • Architect solutions for and participate in the development of prototyping and integration initiatives
  • Review design documentation, user guides, test plans, test reports, etc. for completeness, accuracy, and utility
  • Test and evaluate sophisticated technology products to ensure compliance with specified requirements as well as general utility and usability
  • Identify resources that will be required to perform acceptance testing, including hardware, software, labor, and travel
  • Capture lessons learned and document them in a way which is easily translated into future requirements
  • Support customer training, installation, and other activities to facilitate technology transfer to end customers
  • Integrate select technology with IQT’s operational network and corporate infrastructure

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to install and configure various operating systems, including Windows (XP, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008), and Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Scientific, Ubuntu)
  • Strong understanding of web technologies (e.g., Apache HTTP, Tomcat, Ruby, REST, Python, Perl)
  • Strong understanding of programming languages (e.g., C, Java, C++, Object-C)
  • Knowledge of development lifecycle (e.g., SCRUM, Agile, waterfall, etc.)
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, including installation, user acceptance, and system integration testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Government Security Clearance
