Scope/Purpose of Position:
This role serves as a key point of contact between Optus, its affiliates, vendors and suppliers for the purposes of satisfying Optus’ purchasing needs (i.e., telecommunication and data equipment, supplies, consumables and non-consumable items). They accomplish this by: locating vendors to provide product, services and labor; negotiating pricing based on defined standards; processing POs and MROs, expediting transactions, following up with the vendor until the item is received and communicating with the internal customer who requested the item. They are also responsible for creating and maintaining part numbers in Great Plains as well as monitoring purchase price variances. In addition, they maintain the vendor list and maintain and manage the licensing process between Optus and our vendors. Responsibilities:
Functional
Build the repository of parts and material requirements for incoming equipment as well as the data and materials required for Optus to produce finished products during the production process
Enter, create and maintain the Optus Item (SKU) Master part numbers accurately and consistently for descriptions and parts ensuring the completion of the data sheets and possible substitution of parts database
Help set and manage Min/Max levels and subsequent purchase order placement of materials and MRO items
Models appropriate behavior in regards to Optus’ Core Values and Code of Ethics Policies and supports Optus’ team approach to Quality
Other duties or task as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is required, but a college degree in a related field of study is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience
Technical experience is preferred.
Prefer experience in a progressive, technically-geared work environment.
Extensive experience in Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet development required
Strong organizational and administrative skills and a positive, professional attitude

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to read, write, and communicate both orally and written to external and internal customers and employees. Ability to work together effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction.Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs., periodically, throughout workday. Ability to stand,walk, climbs stairs, sit in one place, squat and kneel continuously throughout day. Ability to reach, bend, and twist continuously throughout day. Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motions.
