          AOA Xinetics (AOX), a Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) strategic business unit, is currently seeking an Engineer/Science Technician 4 at our East Hartford, CT location. The Technician will provide technical support to engineers and scientists by performing a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or optical areas as related to precision optical devices. S/He will establish test setups, conduct testing and report data as required. They will also perform inspection, cleaning, bonding, and troubleshooting of optical components. Assemble, align, troubleshoot, adjust, test, and maintain Optical/Mechanical/Electrical sub-assemblies, systems and associated support equipment. The Technician will perform electronic fault analysis and repair related to electro-optical sub-system, system and drive electronics. Follow appropriate safety and laboratory procedures / practices. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience Knowledge of precision Opto-Mechanical assembly and testing techniques Knowledge of electro-optical test equipment and troubleshooting techniques Must possess good written communication skills to document work performed Require limited supervision; manage routine work with general instructions given on new tasks or special assignments Resolve most questions and problems, and refer complex questions to Engineer/Scientist Work with other internal departments, and/or representatives of outside organizations.
