Primary responsibilities of this position include the development and maintenance of information security policies and processes, in coordination with the Directors of IT, Medical Records, Quality Management, and Risk Management, to insure agency compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA and Texas state codes. Work with Application support to insure minimal standards of information security are adhered to by all IT software vendors and develop mitigation plans for any gaps detected or changes needed. Work with Application Development to assure all agency-developed programs have adequate security based on the information collected and stored. Work with the IT Infrastructure Manager to insure that network security, including perimeter security, is appropriate.
Will also perform security audits per policy and requires experience with strict confidential information. BS in Computer Science, HIM, Information Systems or related field. Minimum of 3 years in Information Security position. Prefer MS and 5 years.
Certification in Information Security a significant plus. Information Security
