The Fab Process Engineer is responsible for sustaining existing plasma etch processes and developing new processes for fabrication of high brightness LEDs. Specific responsibilities will include working closely with the FAB and Equipment Maintenance teams to sustain and improve existing plasma processes, working with the Engineering and Technology groups to introduce new processes that are consistent with high volume and high yield manufacturing, developing criteria and metrics for new process introduction, identify critical process parameters, initiating and sustaining statistical process control.
You will work closely with the Engineering Group to conduct process FMEAs and DOEs for critical processes, improve throughput and reduce cycle time of plasma processes, write all documentation necessary for the plasma area and wafer cleaning areas, develop new resist stripping and wafer cleaning processes and train/certify technicians on all plasma and wafer cleaning equipment. Some rotating weekend coverage will be required in this position.
Qualifications for the position will include a BS degree plus 3 to 5 years related experience, and knowledge of plasma processes in a production environment. This would include hands on operating experience developing and troubleshooting new and existing processes. Knowledge of most types of plasma processing equipment ? RIE, ICP, Downstream - is also required. Experience with compound semiconductors and experience taking a process from a prototype environment into production is preferred.
