Work close with an Art Director or Senior Art Director to bring out-of-the-box thinking and creative idea’s, to a variety of packaging initiatives
To stay current within the design community regarding the latest trends, etc.
Accountabilities:
Assist Art Director/Senior Art Director on a variety of tasks within the design process for various brands/trademark packaging initiatives.
receive and implement direction with complete understanding of project requirements and expectations
provide visual exploration and out-of-the-box thinking
produce high quality, competitive and contemporary packaging and logo design meeting project objectives, timing and budget
ability to write clear, concise design briefs that capture project objectives
prioritize tasks to ensure all aspects of every project meets high standards/quality
assist in the preparation and presentation of creative concepts and ideas
Set and work within established project timelines
meet critical dates within design and execution process
ability to prioritize projects and multi-task
Work with manager to assist on setting direction/relationships with design firms, agency partners, suppliers, etc.
articulate scope, direction and terms of the relationship (includes assignment to appropriate projects defining roles and deliverables).
provide clear and focused direction ( i.e. design brief) and feedback and ensure alignment around objectives.
accessing the quality of the creative output, providing timely and effective feedback, to refine the work, and identify the appropriate course of action
budgeting on projects between vendors and agencies.
Requirements:
0-5 years experience working in design firm or agency that specializes in package design, strong type and design skills a must.
Proficiency with Macintosh computer operating system, including working knowledge of Mac software programs; Adolbe Illustrator, Adolbe Photoshop, Suffit Deluxe, etc.
Knowledge of pre-production of digital files, packaging templates, different printing processes, including screen, flexography, 4 color process, spot color and printing on a variety of substrates such as aluminum, paper, paperboard, corrugated, etc.
Proficiency with Macintosh computer operating system, including working knowledge of Mac software programs; Adolbe Illustrator, Adolbe Photoshop, Suffit Deluxe, etc.
Bachelor’s with a major in packaging design/graphics communication
Must be willing and able to travel up to 15-20% of the time
