Responsibilities : Responsibilities for this position are the following:
Know Product design requirements.
Know Assembly fixture design requirements.
Work with engineers to define design concepts.
Know design requirements for fasteners.
Know design requirements for plastics.
Know standard tolerances for manufacturability.
Know GD&T standards
Create solid models of parts and assemblies.
Create detailed prints which adhere to current industry standards.
Create print packages.
Perform checking on prints and print packages.
Perform tolerance stack-up analyses.
Use established methods of documentation and data storage.
Provide images of designs and design features to support presentations and other communication needs.
Maintain confidentiality.
Use professional communication skills.
Training and Skills : To perform in this position successfully, an individual must have:
Extensive experience with CADD packages such as Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer, Solid Edge, and the like
Well developed skills in solid modeling
Extensive experience creating prints and print packages
Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Experience checking prints and print packages
Experience performing tolerance stackup analyses
Physical Requirements: To perform in this position successfully, an individual be able to:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
