LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an experienced phlebotomist for the Mobile Team Leader (Supervisor/Phlebotomist) position in Decatur, AL . This position is responsible for ensuring blood drives operate safely, efficiently and effectively. The selected candidate will directly supervise one to six Donor Specialists.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

· Oversee Mobile Donor Collection functions

· Ensure all collections operations comply with LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

· Oversee, direct, and monitor all activities of mobile staff

· Properly complete, and account for, all paperwork, test tubes, and blood associated with Donor Collections

· Ensure quality control (QC) on all blood collection equipment is performed and records are maintained appropriately for blood drives before the drive commences

· Maintain stock supply in donor room and mobile unit and complete the Mobile Supply Checklist correctly

· Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers


· High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

· One year of donor collections experience desired

· Previous supervisory experience desired

· CPR Certification required

· Phlebotomy certification desired

· Valid driver’s license required. Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements

· Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brakes license may be required. High-quality training is provided

· Ability to multitask and prioritize

· Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

· Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

This position may work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
