Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred or three to five years experience in Software Testing techniques and methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Experience with PCs and PC-based programs and applications. Understanding of the operations of other departments within a Health Plan Organization. Requires detailed knowledge of the Quality Assurance / Quality Control process, Test Plan, Test Case, and Test Script development, Version, and Change Control processes in terms of what and how work is done as well as why it is done. Basic knowledge of Project Management and supporting software is required.
Primary Job Functions
IS Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for analyzing, organizing and coordinating Integrated and User Acceptance testing for PHS Enterprise-wide process, software, hardware and configuration enhancements and/or additions. The IS Quality Assurance Analyst II plays a major role in the successful migration of these enhancements/additions to the production environment by ensuring the quality of the change.
The IS Quality Assurance Analyst II coordinates the testing activities among all departments involved with the enhancement. The IS Quality Assurance Analyst II manages and coordinates the testing process for the QA team by following standard software testing methodologies.
Analyzes, organizes and coordinates Integrated and User Acceptance testing for PHS Enterprise-wide process, software, hardware and configuration enhancements and/or additions
- Manages the IS Quality Assurance test process, including defining benchmarks, testing status, testing progress, and reporting these items to the appropriate individuals/departments.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and concisely and target communication to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to dissect processes, software, hardware, configuration enhancements and other additions to develop Test Cases, Test Scenarios, Test Plans and Test Approach documentation for Integrated and User Acceptance Testing rounds
Ability to lead SMEs in developing/designing Test Cases and Test Scripts within the timelines provided. Ability to lead SMEs in effectively testing process, software, hardware and configuration enhancements and/or additions, along with appropriate levels of production monitoring.
Identifies and analyzes testing inconsistencies identified during Integrated and User Acceptance test rounds. Reviews testing/validation output to determine if the results meet the business specifications
Participates and Facilitates walk throughs of business specifications with the business areas involved or affected by the process, software, hardware or configuration change.
Develops and presents training materials to other departments within the organization to support development of efficient and effective user testing methodologies
Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem solving, investigative and research ability as evidenced by the identification of issues within the enhancement and the ability to determine if business requirements are met. Defines, evaluates and validates the appropriate business problems or opportunities and determines appropriate course of action
Prioritizes meetings, testing projects and sign-offs to effectively accomplish tasks according to established and constantly changing business needs and priorities
Interact successfully with team members and users throughout the PHS Enterprise and effectively coordinate, consult and plan courses of action for testing/validation
