This labor category requires DoD 8570 compliance – at minimum, IAT Category, Level I.
1. Four (4) years demonstrated experience administering database servers (e.g Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL). Experience shall include database installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backups.
2. Three (3) years demonstrated experience administering database servers (e.g Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL), based on the position being filled. Experience shall include database installation,
configuration, performance tuning, and backups.
3. One (1) year demonstrated experience administering database security configurations (e.g. Oracle Label Security) if specified for the position being filled.
4. Three (3) years demonstrated experience designing, developing, and manipulating databases, data warehouses and multidimensional databases. Specific Job Description Internal candidates for this position will retain their benefit program if they are currently participating in the LMOS, LMES, or Corporate benefit programs. The Database Administrator – Junior Level shall provide database administration for development and production environments and database environment and hosting support to software development teams. The Database Administrator – Junior Level shall administer database servers (e.g Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL), support certification and accreditation activities, and perform all duties related to on-going operation of the database infrastructure. Tasks shall include, but are not limited to, database and application troubleshooting, installation, backups, configuration and performance tuning, development support, scripting, and producing documentation. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Responsibilities include: database loading; development and management of operational procedures; environment management; database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses); resource planning; database upgrade planning; backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation; environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production). Security Clearance TS/SCI w/Poly Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
