Position Summary:
  • Responsible for end to-end project management of one or more projects related to BCBSMA's financial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans, executes, and finalizes projects on time, on budget, following appropriate SDLC standards, and delivering specific, measurable results to business partners.
  • Coordinates project components including financial management, quality management, control management, and business continuity management.
  • Develops a broad functional and application knowledge within the domain.
  • Builds successful interpersonal relationships with business partners, analysts, the IT delivery team and Quality Assurance.
  • Works with system analysts and business partners to understand business objectives.
  • Provides feedback, insight and recommendations, translating appropriate business needs into technology project solutions.
  • Utilizes understanding of business to evaluate proposed solutions, probe options, and make recommendations.
  • Ensures that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
  • Analyzes project risks, issues, costs, and benefits to make relevant recommendations, proposing evolutions and changes where needed.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations, issues, risks, and decisions to project team, business stakeholders, and IT.
  • Participates in project teams by coordinating the work of analysis and development resources.
  • Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and influences them to take positive action and accountability.
  • As needed, tracks Infrastructure team activities and metrics, develops reports, analyzes metrics for trends and makes recommendations for improvement; provides support for production issues such as monitoring production cycles, performing configuration updates, and testing production fixes; works with outsource vendors to monitor and ensure appropriate support levels.
  • As needed, develop and document system and functional requirements for new or changing applications within a business and executing necessary production support activities.
  • Ensures that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
  • As needed, tracks SD team activities and metrics, develops reports, analyzes metrics for trends and makes recommendations for improvement; provides support for production issues such as monitoring production cycles, performing configuration updates

Experience and Education:
  • Minimum BA or BS degree in Systems, IT, Business Management, related degree or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of Analyst or Project Management experience, with demonstrated exposure to and use of the project management 'life cycle,' including tools and methodologies
  • Healthcare experience required; Finance experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong functional and application knowledge
  • Prefer experience with financial applications including Hyperion, and Oracle Financials, and BI reporting tools including Cognos8, Cognos Impromptu, and Hyperion Essbase.
