We are looking for Data Center SME – Location - Jackson, MI - Full Time Position.

No. of position: 3
1. Data Center Operations - (SAC)
Job Description
  • Primary monitoring and escalation point for identification, troubleshooting and resolution of events affecting customer production environments.
  • Provide notification to customers and the service teams for Severity 1 events.
  • Ownership of Severity Level 1 communications bridge handling the entire life cycle of the ticket to resolution.
  • Central point of contact for technical support teams including status updates for on-going incidents/events.
  • Must have aptitude and attitude to learn / work on new technologies.
  • Should be willing to work in shifts 24x7.
  • Create, update and document system processes and tasks as required.
  • Work closely with network engineers, systems administrators and software engineers regarding technology and hardware upgrades.
Basic Requirements
  • 2+ Years supporting event monitoring of Server/Network devices is required.
  • Hands-on experience with the following:
o Alert monitoring tool experience required. HP Open View Operations –OVO preferred, but Nagios, Net Cool, BMC Patrol, NNM, Site Scope will be considered.
o ITSM tool experience. HP SM7, HP Service Desk preferred. Others accepted (USD, Remedy, Peregrine, etc)
o Knowledge of Batch Job scheduling tools preferred (SAP, Redwood, Tivoli Batch Job Scheduling, etc)
o Backup Tool Knowledge
o Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills are required.
o Customer service and interaction skills are required.
o Hardware Knowledge required working closely with network engineers, systems administrators and software engineers for technology and hardware upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL Certification (will be required to complete company paid training and obtain certification within 90 days of hire).
  • Core understanding of SLA/OLA and ability to adhere to stringent time requirements
  • Working (hands on) experience with the following:
o Alert monitoring tool experience required. HP Open View Operations –OVO preferred, but Nagios, Net Cool, BMC Patrol, NNM, Site Scope will be considered.
o ITSM tool experience. HP SM7, HP Service Desk preferred. Others accepted (USD, Remedy, Peregrine, etc)
o Knowledge of Batch Job scheduling tools preferred (SAP, Redwood, Tivoli Batch Job Scheduling, etc)
o Backup Tool Knowledge
o Telecommunication Equipment Knowledge (Radio, Wireless Networks, Mobile Devices,
o IT communication Tower Hardware

2. Data Center Support &Field Services – DOT (Hands & Feet)
Job Description
  • Provide Physical L2 Support for all Data Center Hardware Equipment.
  • “Smart Hands” support for Technical Support Groups
  • Daily Maintenance and Reporting required.
  • Clear, effective two-way communication, both verbal and electronic is required.
o Communication will extend to internal/external customers, team members and vendors.
  • Coordinate with vendors/OEM for spares and replacements
  • Strong customer skills are required
  • Should be willing to work 24x7 “On Call”
  • Must have aptitude and attitude to learn / work on new technologies.
  • ** Daily Travel is Required to provide field services support to customer offices across the state of Michigan.
Basic Requirements

  • 2+ Years in a Data Center Support Environment is required.
  • Server Hardware Knowledge and Support Required (HP Certification (reimbursable) is required within 90 days of hire).
  • Network Device Hardware Knowledge is required (Routers, Switches, MUX, Patch Panels, etc)
  • Rack and Stack Server and Network equipment installation is required
  • Basic cabling knowledge is required (network cabling, power cables, LAN, ILO, SCSI, etc)
  • Knowledge of External Backup Units
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Valid Drivers License and current insurance is required.

  • Wireless Equipment Installation/Troubleshooting/Configuration
  • PDU knowledge including installation and server power connection configurations.
  • ITIL Foundations Principles Awareness Strongly Desired. Certification Preferred.
3. Data Center Support &Field Services – DOT (Hands & Feet) – Network specific
Job Description
  • Provide Physical L2 Support for all Data Center Network Equipment. (verifiable experience required)
  • Leveraged Support as needed for Data Center Server hardware.
  • “Smart Hands” support for Technical Support Groups
  • Performs installation of wiring, patch panel and network switches, hubs, console, etc. (experience required)
  • Installs PDUs and power connections (required)
  • Daily Maintenance and Reporting required.
  • Clear, effective two-way communication, both verbal and electronic is required.
o Communication will extend to internal/external customers, team members and vendors.
  • Coordinate with vendors/OEM for spares and replacements
  • Strong customer skills are required
  • Must be willing to work 24x7 “On Call”
  • Must have aptitude and attitude to learn / work on new technologies.
