Diodes FabTech Inc., started operations when the facilities were purchased from AT&T Microelectronics on Dec 21, 1995. Operations commenced on February 14, 1996. Diodes FabTech Inc. currently employs approximately 200 people (August 2011) and occupies approximately 70,000 sq. ft. (1/20th) of the "Summit Technologies Center". The building is 1.3-million sq. ft., the size of 21 soccer fields. Diodes FabTech is currently the largest manufacturing facility in the Lee's Summit, MO.

Diodes FabTech Inc. has two distinct business areas:
EPI - We apply thin epitaxial layers (3 microns to 200 microns) of single crystal silicon to silicon wafers for various customers and internal consumption.

Wafer Fabrication - Process wafers and provide the following products: Diodes/Rectifiers, Transistors, and Protection Devices

We are currently seeking a Facilities Specialist, reporting to a Facilities Supervisor, in our Lee's Summit location.
General Summary of Purpose

Coordinates activities concerned with the maintenance of the building, including, but not limited to, work related to HVACR, electrical distribution, boilers, cleanrooms and chillers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the maintenance of facility (non-production) equipment to ensure maximum uptime and service life.

Makes periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine repair work required and completes or helps coordinate the necessary repairs.

Schedules preventive maintenance and responds to maintenance calls.

Responds to calls for emergency building or equipment repairs.

Replaces or updates inoperable or old building materials and appliances to provide a safe, comfortable working environment for employees.

Obtains telephone/digital/written estimates and quotes of materials and equipment needed for repairs and the completion of job tasks using various forms.

Communicates orally and in writing to notify supervisor and user groups of conditions of building and equipment and scheduling dates for repairs using a computer and telephone.

Assists the Facilities Supervisor in maintaining compliance with applicable legal and other requirements as they relate to the facility.

Makes recommendations to the Facilities Supervisor regarding improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education

High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience

4-6 year prior related work experience required.
Other Qualifications and Requirements

Good attention to detail

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and good attendance record

EPA Refrigeration certification a plus

Experience with boilers, chillers (less than 500 ton), HVAC or HVACR, cleanrooms, or electrical distribution a plus
