It is the Business Development Director’s responsibility to oversee the New Business Development Department and the development of new and the resell of current clients for the agency according to pre-defined client criteria. The Business Development Director is responsible for the sales of the agency. It is the Director’s responsibility to make sure that the New Business Account Executives are meeting the goals set forth in the business plan, by the department and the agency.The Business Development Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for: Conducting an effective sales effort that results in the planned flow of new business to the agency as defined in the annual business plans.Winning long-term clients. Communicating clearly to the agency, suppliers and clients/prospects.Evaluating current clients and determining how best to upsell clients with Account Service.
The Business Development Director is responsible for both the sales and marketing of the agency: Sales: Conducts an effective sales effort that results in steady cash flow and new clients. Aggressively prospects for new clients in determined business verticals as pre-described in the annual business plan. Ensures an efficient “pitch presentation' agenda making sure all pitches are ready for presentation two days prior to the presentation date. Presents to potential clients that the New Business Account Executives have scheduled. Additional training for clients to help improve the services of the company. Oversees the transition of new clients to Account Service. Maintains knowledge and follows new clients that have been transitioned to account service to ensure retention of each new client. Attends conferences and markets the agency to potential clients. Maintains and updates the computerized prospect database.
