The Center on Aging seeks an individual to be responsible for: telephone mental status screening of participants in this study, ability to make study participants feel at ease with the study procedures, quickly learn new test procedures utilized in the study, attention to detail, accurately record assessment data administered on the telephone in written form, accurately complete scoring of protocols on the same day assessment is completed, accurate timing of procedures. Nursing or cognitive assessment experience desired. This individual will also obtain medical history information, making polite conversation with subject between study procedures, keep paperwork neat and orderly. Help maintain a spreadsheet of changes in participant contact information. Contact participant PCP medical offices to facilitate acquisition of medical information. Call medical offices repeatedly until medical information is obtained. Enter data into Access database and maintain call schedule for follow-up contacts. They will call participants and medical offices to follow-up on medical records requests, fax RO1 as necessary, keep copies of essential paperwork in files, print forms for interoffice use, ensure that faxes are sent only to the listed recipient, maintain files, and forward necessary paperwork to business office. They will interact with co-workers and faculty to facilitate the acquisition of data, keeping track of phone calling schedule for self, tally number of calls made and call attempts each week, help troubleshoot issues with team to help address the needs of the study and participants. They must have flexible work habits; be able to work 2 evenings/nights each week, have exceptional interpersonal skills as well as exceptional interaction skills with public, and print blank packets as needed. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the following: experience with MS Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software; experience with research and/or clinical interviews; experience with cognitive evaluations and procedures; knowledge of medications; exceptional interpersonal/therapy skills; writing competency and flexible work habits; . Nursing or cognitive assessment experience strongly desired.

Preferred Education / Experience

Prefer Bachelors degree with 1-2 years related experience in cognitive evaluations and procedures, behavioral assessment, interpersonal and therapy skills and human research.
