We are looking for a Sr. Engineering Director to join our growing team in our Beijing office! This senior engineer leadership role is to ensure the successful execution of the company’s business mission through development and deployment of Zynga’s Web-based social games. Zynga’s culture embodies the dynamics of a start up, focusing on creativity and fun. This is an integral role within the senior leadership team for our China team.
Responsibilities:
Lead our web social game engineering organization.
Drive engineering planning and execution; manage resource allocation and development of people.
Set measurable engineering objectives for the team, execute and deliver the business results.
Establish a high engineering standard and level up the engineering organization
Communicate with team and key stakeholders on the objectives and status of progress.
Own and drive the engineering process and ensure the quality of the products.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and partners from multiple global development teams; advocate and adopt the best practice.
Collaborate with leadership team to continuously manage trade-offs between scope, resources and time during the development lifecycle.
Working with the Zynga China leadership team in the organization’s strategic planning
Required Skills:
10+ years of working experience preferably in the internet industry, 7+ years experience in managing technical staff and software engineers-including hiring and performance management
Experience in the consumer web or game space, previous start-up experience is a strong plus
Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to use cutting edge technology in our market place
Strong sense of collaborating with the executive team to assess and recommend technologies and support company organizational needs.
Deep technology understanding of C/C++, Flash, Unix, MySQL, Java & Smartfox; Strong experience in Information Technology and LAMP stack application development, specifically in web applications, mobile or other internet products.
Excellent team work skills, flexibility to handle multiple tasks with maximum efficiency; enthusiastic; ability to identify and solve key problems creatively and making key decisions with out much guidance.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
