The Senior Associate is responsible for processing a variety of forms relating to client Retirement accounts received by fax or from IWS. Items serviced by the Senior Associate include forms for Adoption Agreements, Beneficiary Changes, Distributions, ODDR, Rollover Certifications, Service Requests and Excesses/ Recharacterizations. The Senior Associate will have mastered these forms and become an expert on how to process them. When there is a need they are required to help answer phone questions from branches. They are responsible to process daily reports. The Senior Associate will also be responsible to assist with training new employees. Senior Associate must become an efficient user of Workflow, and process requests sent through the Workflow system. In this position the Senior Associate must be able to handle multiple tasks and requests. Attention to detail is important in this role. This position involves risk to the client’s account and the firm, it is important that the processes are completed correctly in ensure proper reporting on the account and to avoid IRS penalties.
Prompt processing of all forms and Workflow requests received.
Proactively seek out process improvements to increase processing efficiencies & provide these to Team Lead or Supervisor.
Assist Team Lead with departmental training.
Emphasis on decision-making and risk identification skills needed.
Serve as a resource to other team members on complex issues as they arise.
Work daily reports.
Ability to multitask a variety of issues surrounding Retirement processing.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Deadlines / Priorities
Maintain established service levels and distribute workload evenly among all team members.
Senior Associate will be utilized as a resource for branch offices and other associates regarding paperwork and more in-depth research and reconciliation for client accounts.
