JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides clinical and administrative nursing support for research trials, studies, and projects. Recruits and screens potential participants. Performs patient/research subject evaluations, administers medications and research instruments and collects data. May assist with surgical procedures. Provides patient education related to study. Makes referrals to in-house or community professionals. Follows-up with project participants in accordance with established standards and protocols. May coordinate staffing or scheduling assignments. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia and one year of related nursing experience.

The Neurological Emergency's Clinical Trial SEC Network is conducting several studies that incorporate 24 hour per day, 7 day a week consecutive entrollment protocols. The On-Call system is designated to provide the system for patient screening and enrollment during evening and overnight hours.
Nurses will be trained to work for several studies and will be responsible for responding to one or more hospitals. They will be responsible for entering enrollment data into WebDMC to obtain the randomization and kit assignment. They will remain with the patient until the study drug or intervention is performed and the accepting in-patient nurse and make sure that information regarding the study is posted in the patient's room and on the patient's chart, will maintain a log and communicate information regarding screening and enrollment to the study team the next morning.
