A primary role of the Lead Radition Therapy Tech will be to assist in coordinating the scheduled work flow of the therapist in the treatment area. Will be responsible for updating the lead therapist of modifications to departmental practices/procedures to ensure consistency in application & implementation. Must be able to respond to issues that may arise in delivering scheduled patient care and responsible for promoting a team environment.
The Lead Radiation Therapy Tech will be proficient in the operation of the treatment equipment, posses the necessary skills to train, monitor and access the competency levels of therapist to perform their technical duties.
Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required: A certificate of completion from an approved radiation therapy technology program. Must possess a current ARRT certificate.
Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required: ARRT certification, graduate from an approved radiation therapy technology program.
Skill Requirements: Must be able to understand and operate treatment machines and simulators in order to deliver safe and accurate treatments and treatment planning. Must posses leadership qualities/capabilities and at least five years of technical experience. Must be capable of training new staff at a variety of experience levels
