The candidate hired for this position will install, configure and support mission critical, production servers and storage in a large enterprise environment. The desired candidate should be able to perform basic Linux/SAN administration tasks with low to medium supervision.
The desired candidate must possess the following skills:
Strong dedication, work ethics, sense of teamwork, and professional attitude.
Minimum two to three years of experience in any flavor of UNIX or SAN administration.
Experienced in installation, configuration and support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Experienced in vi (UNIX text editor), admin commands and shell scripting.
Experienced in RPM installation, removal and upgrade.
Experienced in basic user account administration.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Experience in following areas is a plus:
Configuring network bonding.
Patching and firmware upgrades at the server and storage level.
Linux LVM (Logical Volume Management).
Knowledge regarding RAID0, RAID1, RAID5, RAID10 storage configuration.
Installation and configuration of I/O multi-pathing software e.g. PowerPath and Device Mapper.
Server and SAN performance monitoring.
Familiarity with basic SAN fabric administration tasks (aliasing, zoning and switch config).
Certification in any flavor of UNIX,
