NSN is currently recruiting for a HEAD of Tax, Americas. The Head of Tax, Americas is responsible for all aspects of tax for the Americas Region (North, Central and South America and the Caribbean Basin), including research, planning, tax compliance, tax accounting/reporting oversight and tax audits. As the Head of Tax for the Region, you will work extensively with the Head of Global Tax on worldwide tax issues.
Main Responsibility Area
Lead a team of 5 people in North America region (NAM) and Latin America region (LAT)
Define and implement effective tax policies, structures and processes for NAM & LAT
Manage tax risk and audits
Provide tax support to Customer teams in tender / offer phase, contract negotiations, project structuring and project execution
Support / Lead in Global M&A
Proactively lead and coordinate efforts of external service providers.
Maintain and enhance strong working relationships with accounting, legal, and treasury functions, as well as with the operating divisions.
Be accountable for all aspects of the tax function, either through hands-on participation or by leading the efforts of and collaborating with team members in other areas
Minimum 15 years of tax experience with a preference for somebody with a CPA firm or private industry.
CPA, Masters or law degree preferred.
U.S. Federal controversy experience with effective dispute resolution capabilities required.
Critical tax technical areas needed: transfer pricing, accounting for income taxes, IP structuring, contract R&D, intercompany services (of various kinds and added value), intercompany financing (including debt push-down structures), exposure to the US taxation of foreign companies with US operations (emphasis on permanent establishment and US trade or business rules), and international taxation.
Overall tax compliance knowledge, including consolidated return tax issues.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with senior management and across the organization. Strong negotiating skills with the ability to develop good working relationships with the IRS and equivalent tax agents.

Experience in working with leading a cross cultural team
