I. Minimum Requirements:

Education:
High school diploma or GED

Licensure/Certification:
None

Experience:
Previous experience in children and family services preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who have current or recent experience in this or a similar role with current contractors in the Kansas child welfare system.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

IV. Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance/Family Support Worker monitors, corrects, and updates the data input of Permanency Services to ensure continuous data improvement and compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. The QA/FSW may also provide support and assist Case Managers, Therapeutic Case Managers, and Supervisors with services to children and families.

Present self as a positive role model for clients and families.
• Appear in court, as needed.
• Assist in filing, typing, answering phone calls and pages, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned according to qualification of staff and development of programs.
• To continue to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, connected to the community; and which relies on evidence-based practice necessary to support contract services in Kansas.
• Arrange transportation for clients to case plan related activities.
• Supervise parent/child interactions as required.
• Assist family members in finding resources (housing, utilities, mental health, and health care) that are needed for a child to remain in their home.
• Teach parents daily living skills such as budgeting, housekeeping (for healthy living environment) and parenting.
• Document all contacts with clients and collaterals.
• Assist in the assessment of progress in family functioning.
• Maintain current documentation in client files.
• Provide follow up support to families.
• Perform face to face contact with families in their homes.
• Participate in staffing cases.
• Provide information to and assist the Family Preservation Therapist (FPT)
• Present self as positive role model for clients and families.
• Appear in court, as required; present professionally and communicate effectively.
• Assist in fling, typing, answering phone calls, as needed.
