This position directs the operation of a professional and quality student activities program for the District.

Manages the budget reserved for student development activities and events. Coordinates student recruitment activities for each college. Supervises the District wide Student Government Association. Coordinates the annual student leadership conference. Organizes the District’s HIV/AIDS initiative, the Life-Source Blood Drive and Voters’ Registration Drive.

Manages staff responsible for special student services programs including Credit for Prior Learning, International Student Services, Chargeback and CTA U-Pass. Coordinates Financial Aid Awareness Month. Oversees accurate foreign transcript evaluation process. Coordinates the District wide Art Exhibit. Assist in the revision and updating of the Student and Academic Policy Handbooks to ensure consistency across the District.

Performs other duties as assigned.

All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.


Master’s degree in Counseling, Education or related field. Previous experience in student activities at an urban community college preferred.

Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills required. Must have the ability to be creative, flexible and solve problems. Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as with students and other customers. Must be able to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy. Must be self-directed and innovative, able to assess current operations in an effort to improve the future goals of the District. Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
