Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Wellness Program Coordinator for the Wellness @ SU program. The position will be reporting to the Associate Vice President of Administration and Finance for Human Resources.
Primary Job Duties : The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing Wellness @ SU employee wellness programs, activities, and initiatives. The Wellness Coordinator must be energetic, outgoing, and have a passion for health improvement. The Wellness Coordinator will promote, teach, and market programs to encourage the lifelong process of creating healthy, purposeful and balanced lifestyles within the Salisbury University community. Duties include but are not limited to: facilitating individual and group wellness education sessions and classes, increasing participation and engagement in wellness activities, assessing program effectiveness, acting as a liaison with various internal and external constituents, and maintaining the Wellness @ SU website.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in public health, wellness, health education/promotion or health related field, preferred; and three (3) years of experience planning, implementing, teaching and evaluating wellness activities with a diverse population, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in public health (MPH), wellness, health education/promotion or health related field and experience in public sector or higher education.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Knowledge of principles, theories and best practices of worksite health promotion programs, risk reduction, and health promotion/behavior change. Demonstrated skill and proficiency in assessing employee health status and providing education on health and wellness related topics such as nutrition, exercise, weight management, stress management, and tobacco cessation. Ability to lead group fitness activities for adult populations, analyze fitness desires of University employees by survey and other means, and effectively develop, deliver and evaluate worksite wellness programs and services. Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively individually and collaboratively in teams and with a diverse population of faculty, staff, community partners and vendors. Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-directed/motivated professional with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adjust programming to fit the needs of the employees. Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated writing, editing, and public speaking/ presentations skills. Proficiency in computer skills, with demonstrated skills in survey tools and Microsoft Office Suite to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
This is a part-time (19 hours per week) non-exempt contingent I position with no benefits. Starting salary is $14.00 to $16.07 per hour.
