The Wireless Division’s Multi-Generation Radio System Test team is accountable for the integration, validation and test support of our radio access network products. Our mission is to ensure the delivery of high quality features and products to our customers by detecting as many issues as possible before they are deployed in our customers’ networks.
This team is part of the broader Wireless Division within Alcatel-Lucent. Our Wireless Division has recently announced the development of the ground-breaking mobile technology of lightRadio. The lightRadio product family provides up to a 2X increase in wireless network capacity, lowers total cost of ownership by up to 50 percent - when combined with LTE and Small Cells - and drives down carbon footprint by up to 50 percent. It also makes it much easier to deliver services in underserved regions. Innovations like lightRadio are what make the Wireless Division of Alcatel-Lucent such a great place to work.
The summer intern will join the Wireless Division’s Multi-Generation Radio System Test team focused on 4G LTE technology. The candidate will be responsible for working with System Test engineers to automate test cases and incorporate them into a continuous integration framework which can be automatically executed. Following test execution, the results need to be evaluated. All failures or anomalies are to be investigated by analyzing logs and debug traces and by interacting with other testers, software and hardware developers, and system engineers.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and enhance automated test scripts to have fully automated execution and analysis
Execute automated test cases in a continuous integration framework and environment
Analyzing test results
Characterizing errors and anomalous test results
Investigating issues with developers and other testers
Retesting to verify fixes
Daily reporting of test results the current status of issues under investigation
Some undergraduate coursework in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Knowledge of scripting using languages such as TCL/TK , Perl, Shell, etc.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Friendly and excited to learn
Knowledge of UNIX / linux operating systems
Knowledge of Hotkey, QTP/VB
Some graduate coursework in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Must be activity pursuing a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited educational institution.
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
Able to work from the Murray Hill, NJ office
