Serves as the primary technical resource for the AT Sales channel in the broadcast and theater segments. Ensures the proper and successful penetration of AT products in the market place. Determines the application needs of customers and works to provide proper solutions.

Develops and maintains strong relationships with key customers and segment influencers by utilizing strong technical and application knowledge and experience in industry practices and technology applications.

Works closely with the sales department to enhance our overall value and service to customers. Cultivates new accounts and develops a hand-off process that ties actions to the sales function.

Assists in the determination of segment strategies to meet or exceed the growth targets and strategic goals as established by the company. Works as part of the overall sales and marketing team to achieve annual segment targets.

Determines segment product needs. Defines performance and feature requirements and works with Product Managers to bring appropriate products to market within required timeframes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support through the process of selection, specification, application and post application of technical projects. Effectively communicates technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

Creates and executes a plan to systematically develop and maintain strong relationships with key and potential customers and segment influencers. Maintains a forward six month activities schedule to ensure full internal communication and coordination.

Works as part of a team to enhance our overall value and service to customers and identify and cultivate new accounts.

Assists in the determination of sales and product strategies to develop the segments giving proper consideration to customer, product and technology trends. Helps develop annual segment budgets and forecasts.

Provides marketing, engineering, production, and distribution input for the broadcast and theater segments, including the development of product definitions, marketing communications, forecasting, educational needs/opportunities and assistance with the evaluation of product performance.

Works with Artist Relations Coordinator to manage segment demo inventory within budget to maximize sales potential.

Serves on product development teams as requested. Participates in marketing efforts for new product launches, including input on launch and educational materials. Identifies the need for training programs and related materials and communicates with the marketing department.

Acts as an industry spokesman in market segments through published articles, presentations, speaking engagements, trade show activities, and seminars.

Regularly attends relevant tradeshows.

Position requires extensive travel.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A. Knowledge and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree or measurable equivalent experience.
  • Strong product knowledge and experience in broadcast and theater audio. Some knowledge of video desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution channels that link Audio-Technica with end users.
  • Experience with the following PC application types: word processing and spreadsheet.
  • Available to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to seek and identify market and selling needs, translating them into actionable items.
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships and influence others.
  • Requires self-driven attitude and ability to accept personal responsibility to problem-solve on the spot in delicate or high stress situations.
  • Financial acumen and forecasting abilities.

B. Supervision
Requires minimal supervision. Does not have direct reports at this time.
