Works independently with general direction from the unit staff providing clerical/administrative support to unit/area faculty and staff; effectively communicates with diverse individuals and groups; and maintains and reconciles financial, personnel, and inventory records.
Training/experience in performing tasks that support the operation of a professional office environment; demonstrated computer skills in word processing applications, database management, electronic spreadsheets, email and the Internet; strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience prioritizing and managing time effectively for performing multiple tasks.
Previous administrative support experience; demonstrated experience maintaining accounts; ability to comply with policies and procedures with little supervision; experience with Excel database, Banner, Quicken and basic understanding of Commonwealth of Virginia accounting guidelines.
