The incumbent is responsible for all operations of the plant in the absence of the Plant Manager. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage safety, quality, service, and cost performance of the production, blending, warehouse, scheduling and purchasing functions to meet or exceed stated goals and objectives In collaboration with plant staff and Human Resources, determine staffing, selection, and deployment of employees based on actual and forecasted sales Provide coaching and feedback to direct and indirect reports Identify development opportunities to improve overall individual and team performance Participate with Plant management and staff to define culture, promote positive employee relations, improve communication systems and policies, and support the overall growth and direction of the Jackson plant Prepare and track departmental budgeting, forecasting and analysis Assign objectives and projects to direct reports and guide, monitor, and evaluate results Promote and manage the continuous improvement of the Jackson Plant by benchmarking operations, and researching and implementing new industry advances Eliminate production waste and reduce variability Collaborate with other location plant superintendents to maximize quality and safety standards and improve process and safety procedures KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. MBA preferred. A minimum of 10 years experience in production operations with demonstrated skills leading and supervising direct reports.
