Salary Range- $75,600 - $119,400
Grade: "D"


The Director will be primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, development, design and construction review process for the Second Avenue Subway project. The Director will be the principal point of contact for MTA Capital Construction, CPM, Operations Planning and the Consultants, and will work with selected team advisor representatives from the Subways Operating Divisions. Handle all code compliance and system maintainability issues, and ensure that all Subways' operating requirements and standards are addressed. Manage projects milestone goals such as, Beneficial Use and Final Acceptance. Possess the ability to negotiate and advocate for the Department of Subways while dealing with conflict resolution. Oversee the development of force account estimates, preparation/review of budget modification & procurement staff summaries, facilitate the development and preparation of Operating Budget Impact Statements, Cost Benefit Analysis and Alternative Analysis. Provide input for planning, review, and justification of all documentation.

Education and Experience

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in one of more of the following: Business Administration, Transportation Management, and or Engineering. Ten (10) years of satisfactory full-time paid experience, with at least Five (5) of Supervisor/Managerial experience, or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

1. Knowledge of NYCT Capital Programs procedures, as well as the Department of Subways; operating and maintenance requirements.
2. Strong computer skills, financial analysis, budget and project management experience.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Strong problem solving/conflict resolution skills.
5. Strong analytical background in the field of engineering, construction activities and inspection process.
