About the Department
At Barnes-Jewish Hospital , therapists in the Department of Rehabilitation are a valued part of the care continuum and serve a significant role in making critical patient care decisions every day. Our therapists experience a close connection with their patients and families as well as collaborative interactions with each patient's physicians, nurses and other medical team professionals.
A large department of approximately 100 employees, the department is structured in a programmatic approach, which places therapists working together with the same patient population. Therapy services are provided to a wide range of patient care areas, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, oncology and the special care nursery.

The Physical Activity Technician takes exceptional care of patients by providing routine, nonskilled patient treatments as prescribed by the physician and directed by the licensed Physical Therapists in order to support Barnes-Jewish Hospitals' key results, including Clinical Quality, Service Excellence, Financial Performance and Positioning for the Future .
Provides safe routine patient care services
Retrieves, delivers and maintains supplies and equipment
Assures effective, accurate and timely communication
Cleans and stocks supplies and equipment
Ensures a clean and safe environment
Minimum Qualifications :
High School or Equivalent GED
Must be able to stand, walk, and/or move about 75% of a shift
Preferred Qualifications :
Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy Student
Basic Computer/Keyboarding Skills
Basic Cardiovascular Life Support Certification
Job Experience - 3 months or more
