The Driver/ Warehouse position is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all warehouse transactions, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the branch warehouse environment. This position is also responsible for the safe, efficient, accurate, and timely delivery and pick-up of product in the most productive manner possible.
The individual must behave consistently with Platt’s Core Competencies, focus on safety, and comply with all Platt Policies and Guidelines. This position is responsible for efficiently selecting customer and branch orders from the warehouse ensuring that the correct number and type of product is shipped. Assemble various types of merchandise for pick-up. Carry or transport orders to customer/counter/shipping area with material handling equipment, label orders as requested, repack any orders that require such handling, ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Ensure that all orders are loaded on the truck at departure. Determine that all material for each order is correct (quantity and type of material) before departure. Leave each day at the scheduled departure time and maintain the required route schedule. Deliver orders as per the customer’s requirements including delivery site, delivery time, and delivered to the proper people. Perform a daily vehicle inspection and complete appropriate documentation. Keep vehicle clean, serviced and maintained in accordance with the Owner's Manual and Platt's maintenance requirements. Determine that all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at the time of delivery, including customer packing list and branch manifest. Operate machinery including forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine in performance of Warehouse duties when required. Maintain a minimum standard for productivity and accuracy as determined by Management. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Obtain and maintain a DOT physical / Medical card and have it renewed every 2 years. Reliable and regular attendance is required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
The individual needs to communicate all discrepancies to the warehouse manager or assigned sales team immediately upon discovery. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Assist customers with product selection at the counter or on the phone. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

The individual must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 3 years of personal driving experience and with a clean driving record.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills
The individual must understand, be aware of, and comply with all driving rules and regulations.
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required.
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, write legibly, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
This position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; as well as the ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
This position requires a valid driver’s license issued by the State of the position applied to. This position also requires a forklift certification. Forklift training will be provided by the company as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles due to high levels of dust and dirt. The warehouse environment has no means of temperature control; therefore, the temperature is dependent upon weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
