FLORIDA CANCER SPECIALISTSPOSITION DESCRIPTION Position Summary: Seek financial aid assistance for patients of Florida Cancer Specialists' in house pharmacy, Rx to Go. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years experience in the healthcare field is preferred. Knowledge of medial terminology is essential. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are important to the job function. Fluency in the English language as well as strong communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities is required. Key Performance Areas:1. Contact insurance companies to verify patient pharmaceutical benefits.2. Explain insurance coverage to patients as it relates to their co-payment responsibility.3. Coordinate prescription refill processing with pharmacist and registered pharmacy technician. 4. Contact patient after prescription is filled to arrange delivery and discuss co-pay collection. Process credit cards or arrange for patient payment. Generate deliver tickets and verify patient address. Assist with packing and shipping if necessary.5. Refer patient and clinic calls related to prescription issues to the pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician.6. Work with various cancer copay assistance foundations and manufacturer assistance programs to obtain patient financial aid as it relates to co-payments. Direct patients, appropriate family or caregivers to the foundation or assistance program of choice for their specific disease state or drug type. Assist with paperwork when possible. Bill the foundations for the co-payments and assist with the collection process.7 Assist pharmacy nurse specialist in obtaining prior authorizations for all oral specialty oncology medications from the patients insurance company for all FCS patients as an extension of the practice.8. Responsible for all start of day procedures of RX to Go. Respond to or direct all pharmacy dispensing request to the pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician. Bring up all computers systems. Load label printer and copier. Retrieve all FAX request from overnight. Check emails and print out Fed-Ex delivery tracking confirmations for Revlimid patients and print out delivery status for all prior day shipments. Empty trash and clean area as needed.9. Communicate on an as needed basis with nurses, medical assistants in the FCS offices to discuss financial aid and copay assistance for patients with need.10. Attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings. 11. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times. 12. Assist in training new employees to related job duties. 13. Keep work area and records in a neat and orderly manner 14. Maintain all company equipment in a sake and working order. 15. Will be expected to work at any FCS location to help meet FCS business needs. 16. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, patient's rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adhere to FCS and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan. 17. Each year complete Fraud Waste and Abuse Training as required by law. Adhere to this training and always report suspected FWA to the pharmacy compliance officer.
