The Market Manager role reports to the Director – Fixed Income Market Managers within the Fixed Income Organization. This team provides fixed income market wisdom and subject matter expertise on the fixed income markets, asset allocation, all fixed income products and the Schwab fixed income platform to ensure our client facing representatives and their clients have the information they need to make informed decisions.

Brief Description of Role:

Market Managers are responsible for supporting client facing professionals in Investor Services and helping them meet their client’s needs for fixed income investments and advice. This role requires highly developed communication skills, a deep knowledge of fixed income markets and investments and a willingness to travel. This position is for the Fixed Income Market Manager supporting the Pacific Northwest Region and will be based in either Seattle or Bellevue, WA.

The market manager is responsible for supporting business development opportunities via client-facing meetings and educational workshops and will also be expected to provide 1-on-1 consulting for select clients (via conference calls, in-branch meetings, dinners, etc.), delivering market overview and education on the fixed income market. By providing fixed income expertise, market perspective and guidance on best practices, the Market Manager will help Branch personnel and their clients more deeply understand and utilize Schwab’s fixed income capabilities.

This position requires an entrepreneurial and self-motivated individual. The Market Manager is expected to employ a well organized approach to planning, scheduling and evaluating events, activities and travel, cultivating relationships and communicating with a wide variety of business partners.

Technical/Functional Qualifications:

Position requires BA/BS or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years successful financial sales experience with deep fixed income knowledge. Expertise in all aspects of the fixed income asset class as well as fixed income products including individual bonds, Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds and ETFs. Must possess excellent communication skills, including senior management level presentation skills and ability to communicate with Directors, VPs and SVP levels in other enterprises. Additionally, candidate must have the ability to make compelling presentations to large or small audiences of clients, prospects and employees, as well as possess exceptional written communication skills than can be tailored to the appropriate level of sophistication.Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Requires ability to coach and influence others, provide enhanced sales skills and deliver specific product and technical knowledge for all the assigned fixed income solutions. Strong analytical skills, including the business perspective to anticipate issues and their impact on other areas of the company and to proactively ensure that their impact is addressed. Strong customer focus, including ability to think in terms of customer experience/perspective. Solid knowledge of Schwab organizational and business development procedures. Have a strong understanding and grasp of the competitive landscape in the financial services industry. Demonstrated ability to communicate and implement a clear, focused business development strategy for area/group. Demonstrated ability to influence and achieve objectives without direct authority or direct reporting relationships.Commitment to the highest ethical standards.Series 7 and 66 required. CIMA/CFA/CFP preferred.
