A Sanford, FL based manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator

Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as CNC turret, CNC brakes, shears, rolls, presses, forming machines, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend sheet metal strips, and sheets. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Performs machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpiece. Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpiece. Coordinates activities of the production personnel and reports activity levels to the production supervisor. May Operate roll-form and shearing machine equipped with sets of cutting dies or blades to shear and form structural shapes such as angles and channels to specified length.

o Sets up and operates conventional, and numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metal and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.

o Studies sketches, drawings, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished product, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or product as guides for subsequent machining.
o Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
o Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Verifies conformance of finished product to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
o Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
o Tests machinery and equipment, applying knowledge of mechanical engineering technology, under direction of production supervisor. Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
o Stops machine after trial run and inspects machined workpiece to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications. Monitors machine operation and display panel of control unit for indications of malfunction.
o Makes manual adjustments such as aligning workpiece on machine table, changing cutting tools, or setting cutting speed, feed rates, and depth of cut.
o Operates machine in semiautomatic mode by setting selector switch and manually dialing in data according to oral or written instructions to machine relatively simple pieces.
o Operates press equipped with two or more rams to bend angles or flanges or bend to radius by successive passes; or operates multiple acting hydraulic press to perform deep progressive and reverse draw operations of sheet metal
o Lifts and positions workpiece between dies of machine.
o Starts machine to lower ram which bends or straightens workpiece between dies.
o Repositions workpiece and changes dies when making multiple or successive passes.
o Bends or straightens cold metal. Hand forms or finishes workpiece.
o Inspects and marks job number on finished workpiece.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

3 years of machining experience is required.

Must be able to independently do set-ups

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form .
