Augustana College seeks to fill a full-time position as Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach and HPER Instructor.

Responsibilities : The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with all phases of the women’s volleyball program and will hold a teaching assignment in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. The duties of the Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach will include coaching and recruiting as well as assisting with all other components of a competitive NCAA Division II women’s volleyball program. The HPER teaching assignment will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Additional duties will include advising students as assigned by the HPER Department Chair.

Qualifications : Master’s Degree preferred and prior experience as a head or assistant volleyball coach is preferred. A commitment to continued professional and scholarly growth is desired. A commitment to the mission and values of a church-related liberal arts college is expected.

Athletic and HPER Information : Augustana College sponsors 18 athletic teams who compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and NCAA Division II. The women’s volleyball team practices and plays all of its games in the 4,000 seat Elmen Center on campus. This multi-use facility is also the home for the HPER program, which includes academic majors in Exercise Science, Fitness Management, Athletic Training, Sport Management and Physical Education. The athletic program is supported by more than 1,100 Athletic Club members and the Sioux Falls area, which includes over 160,000 people.

Salary : Competitive; dependent upon qualifications. Excellent fringe benefits.
