TOYS"R"US/BABIES"R"US - SELLING DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR
The "Winning @ Service" Team is responsible to consistently deliver superior service experiences for Babies "R" Us guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate for this team is someone who can create an emotional connection with every person involved with the arrival of a new baby, whether that is parents, siblings, grandparents, friends and more.
As the baby product authority, the Baby Furniture and Baby Gear departments must ensure that all of our guests leave our stores confidant, excited and happy with their choices for the new arrival. The Supreme Service Team Member is responsible for those consistent, positive interactions that results in the sale of merchandise to our guests.
The Department Supervisor is responsible for ensuring their department is delivering supreme service to every guest through the use of selling skills and product knowledge. The Department Supervisor will serve as the subject matter expert and is responsible for ensuring that all team members in their area are trained on all appropriate selling programs.
The Department Supervisor is a full-time position and requires full availability including nights and weekends. The position reports directly to the Assistant Store Manager. and is expected to spend the their time working on the sales floor, delivering supreme service and coaching team members.
Accountable for Supreme Service in their department by:
Perform daily walk of department to ensure it is guest ready- maintain a clean and safe
shopping environment for guests
Follow up on STAR training and SuperStar selling training to ensure team members are
demonstrating the sills with each guest
Ensure all department Team Members are certified in their department and have
proven their ability to assist the guests with their needs.
Ensure that "Make the Sale" processes are being used by team members to meet the
needs of guests
Coach and develop team members
Ability to identify and resolve guest issues
Communicate out of stock and other guest impacting issues to Supervisor immediately
Take product knowledge information and use it appropriately to share features and benefits of items with guests to assist with purchasing decisions.
Drive sales in Furniture and Baby Gear department by achieving set goals
Trains all Team Members on merchandising standards

Exhibit an ownership attitude by promoting partnerships with store management
Ability to address problems that arise in a timely and effective manner
Involved in staffing department; provides feedback and suggestions to management team on selection of department team members
Review sales reports and goals daily and share results with team. Coach team on areas for improvement.
Implement system to communicate all ROTO's promotions, Impact Planner projects and special events for each department Team Member
Act as Guest Service Leader (GSL) during scheduled shifts and ensure STAR service is happening in the entire store.
Genuine desire and proven ability to deliver supreme service using the STAR model with all of our guests, Every Day , Every Time
Strong Leadership and Communication skills
Knowledge of safety requirements for all Furniture and Baby Gear products
Ability to solve problems and resolve issues rapidly
Ability to handle multiple guests and ensure supreme service is provided
Proven ability to work together with peers and ensure all our guest needs are met and exceeded
Excellent follow up skills
Working knowledge of technology in department (store systems)
