The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York / New Jersey region including The Port Authority Trans Hudson Corporation (PATH), the primary transit link between Manhattan and New Jersey communities and suburban commuter railroads.
1 Year Project with Medical Benefits
Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officers office, the Business Analyst Quality Assurance and Testing will be responsible for creating test cases from business requirements and detailed functional specifications, reviewing application code, participating in code reviews, quality testing, performing ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement activities for desktop and web-based business applications.
Specifically, the Business Analyst Quality Assurance and Testing must:
Attend design and other reviews and walkthroughs;
Translate business requirements into test requirements;
Develop and maintain test scenarios;
Create and maintain test plans, cases/scripts, use cases, traceability matrix and various testing checklists;
Manage test effort against project schedule;
Develop and execute system, integration and regression testing for assigned projects;
Document and track defects throughout the test effort;
Analyze test results to identify defect trends;
Resolve application discrepancies with technical personnel and retests as required;
Perform post-implementation validation;
Review test results with project stakeholders;
Obtain business sign off on the test effort;
Prepare test data and environments;
Report test status and issues in a timely fashion;
Identify test cases for re-use on future projects.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or related technical or analytical field from four-year college or university;
Three to five years related experience/training in Quality Assurance;
Software testing skills and extensive knowledge of software applications;
Experience in systems analysis and design skills including the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products;
Ability to be self-directed and work independently with other vendors to understand the software and testing needs;
Outstanding communication skills;
Ability to deal with users at all levels, including management and business experts in a professional manner.
Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies and application of those methodologies.
